Kashmiri Khosa was born in Lahore, Pakistan in February 1940. After the partition of India in 1947, he shifted to New Delhi and attended the Delhi Polytechnic now known as the Delhi College of Art in 1961. Khosa became an artist while his father, Pandit Somnath Khosa, with his realistic works, since childhood. Unlike his father’s works, Kashmiri’s works are figurative abstract along with meta-physical themes. He employs inks, pencil, oils and acrylics in his works. He has participated in major national and international shows while being conferred the National Award by the Government of India in 1981 and the President of India’s silver plaque in 1974. His works are part of important collections of the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, Sahitya Kala Parishad, New Delhi, the Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Akademi as well as private collections around the globe. Khosa lives and works in New Delhi.
