A magnificent French jardinière with a mirrored plateau by Tétard Frères. The ornate jardinière features an exquisite rose and leaf design on the rim, with two foliate scroll side handles and a beaded band decoration. The mirrored plateau is supported by six solid cast silver lion paw plinths. Founded in 1880 by Edmond Tetard (1860- 1901), the firm became famous for its elegant and superlative quality silver antiques. The firm’s popularity soared in 1889 when Edmond won the gold medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris. The company was also the premier supplier of fine silver to the French Aristocracy during the 19th century
This lot is over one hundred years old or National Art Treasure, cannot be exported out of India as per Antiques and Art Treasures Act, 1972.
