‘The Oryx Cup’ modern William Asprey solid silver, partially gilt, with lapis lazuli, diamonds (1.00 cts approx.), mother of pearl, and enamel trophy. The trophy is a large, unique and magnificent piece, the body modelled as four stylised sails, the circular gilt frame enclosing rotating globe, all within a slanting band, the star shaped finial set with diamonds, the raised square base inlaid with lapis lazuli and mother of pearl depicting waves. William & Son, London is owned by the Asprey family and was founded in the year 1999 by William Asprey, a seventh generation member of the family.
