A rare eight piece table service set consisting of two meat dishes with cover, a pair of oval, as well as round vegetable dishes on a warming stand with cover, and a pair of sauce tureens with cover. The outer rim of the base of the dishes is decorated with an Acanthus pattern. The cover with the handle is decorated with a board fluting pattern and floral motifs. Hamilton & Co. is probably the best known and celebrated British silversmith to have operated in India. Apart from serving the British civilians, Hamilton & Co. also catered to the Indian aristocracy and quickly gained popularity among them for its unique artisanship.

This lot is over one hundred years old or National Art Treasure, cannot be exported out of India as per Antiques and Art Treasures Act, 1972.
