A fine Louis XVI style gilt bronze mounted Mahogany console with a grey veined-brown marble top. With an extensive surface area, this fine console has a well shaped top, complimented with an applied frieze with finely cast gilt bronze foliate mounts, fitted with three drawers with beautifully worked floral wreaths. Below are three panelled cupboard doors flanked with flute uprights and open shelves with gilt-bronze galleries and mirrored backs. The presented lot’s shelves comprise of embellished, openwork gilt bronze rims. Ormolu laurel crowns and foliage accentuate the mounts, this console rest on four tapering legs and gilt-bronze caps.
This lot is over one hundred years old or National Art Treasure, cannot be exported out of India as per Antiques and Art Treasures Act, 1972.
