This early 20th century Tabriz carpet is scaled and has a repertoire of classic design and pattern. The castle rock design explains the refinement of Safavid Court carpets. The densely knotted geometric pattern units that are observed in the core rectangular section are elegant, as well as large in their formation. The design observed in this lot, has been adopted from 16th century period, furthermore the beautifully aged colours ranging from soft aubergine to blue, greens yellow, brick red and pink constitute a highly decorative antique carpet for a contemporary home.
