This Late 19th century, antique Shirwan long rug is a rendition of a bold tribal design from the region of its creation. With a Lenkoran design on a beautiful sky blue pallete, with a cream border with geometric design. Rugs from this region were mainly executed with a geometric mainframe pattern. The local weave patterns were restricted to a confined colour palette that was more than compensated with the deployment of maximal designs. The Shirwan rugs are known for its sophistication, and are highly desirable owing to their elaborate visual characteristics.
