The iconic baseball player Mickey Mantle was born in Oklahoma on the 20th of October, 1931. Right from the beginning, he stuck to
one team. His18-year long career was spent with the New York Yankees. The year 1956 was one of the best of his careers. He won the
Triple Crown, batting .353 with 52 home runs and 130 RBI, and won the first of two consecutive MVP awards. He later wrote a book
about his best year in baseball titled ‘My Favourite Summer 1956’. Mantle’s overall performance in 1956 was so exceptional that he was bestowed the Hickok belt as the top American Professional athlete of the year.
