Rearngsak Boonyavanishkul was born in 1961 in Singhburi, Thailand and completed his B.F.A. in Thai Art in the year 1986 at Silpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. A leading contemporary artist from Thailand, his work is developed on a background of artistic traditionalism, as part of the new modernist directive in Thailand. The artist imbues traditional idioms with novel artistic treatment, hereby fusing the present art trends with traditional artfroms of Thailand. Executing his works with a balanced perspective of neo - traditional as well as surrealism, Rearngsak has creates stories which depict the epics of gods, goddesses and imaginary creatures. Boonyavanishkul dedicated three years in order to study the movements and agility of Balinese dancers in close vicinity.

In the year 2003 he held a solo exhibition at the Museum Nasional, Jakarta. He has showcased and participated in numerous group shows throughout the world.
