Subodh Gupta did his B.F.A. (Painting) from the College of Art, Patna (1983- 88). From small-town Bihar, the artist has worked his way up to achieve accolades and awards in India and internationally. Trained as a painter, he is versatile in various forms and styles, including performance art, video, sculpture and photography. His work invariably draws center stage at international art fairs, auctions and events. The theme of migration and the lost sense of home and place resulting in frictions amidst a rapidly globalizing society features in his work.This internationally acclaimed artist lives and works in New Delhi.
