Kim Seola was born in 1983 in Yousu, Chunnam, South Korea. She completed her B.F.A in Painting from

Gwangju, South Korea in 2006.
Kim Seola’s ethereal compositions subtly reinterpret quotidian motifs from nature and life. Employing light and delicate strokes, she deconstructs her subjects to unravel the many layers of memory associated with them. She is drawn to the transformation in life forms – the metamorphosis of a caterpillar, blossoming of a flower, or ripening of a fruit – transitions that serve as manifestations of the cycle of life. And by alluding to these, she evokes greater realities such as the fleeting ephemerality of a moment and the eternal passage of time.
