Dileep Sharma though the graphic medium looks to translate his experiences of people, cultures, object, subject, customs and traditions, and unveil his thought processes. He confronts elements that do not seemingly identify themselves till they start surfacing on their own.

Born in 1974 in Mandawar, Rajasthan, he did his MFA in printmaking from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. He also studied at Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur, Painting. Among his solo exhibitions are ‘Theatre of Libido’, space 355 keumsan galleries & Gallery Hashimito, Tokyo, Japan (2009); ‘Kunwarji's fantasy’, international traveling show at Keumsan Gallery and Nowon Art center, Seoul, Korea (2008); ‘Asia belt’ and ‘Kunwarji’, Seoul international print, photo art fair (2008, 2007); At Hangaram Museum, Seoul arts center, Korea; ‘Crazy Stills’, Gallery 28 in Cork Street, London, organized by Visual Art UK (2007); ‘Modeling the Tattoo’, Jehangir Art Gallery, organized by Gallery Beyond, Mumbai (2003). He has also taken part in several group exhibitions and international art events.

Among the awards and honors he has won are a special award at 6th International Biennial of Print, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal; National Lalit Kala Akdemi, New Delhi award in 10th Kala Mela, RLKA, Jaipur; Merit Certificate at International Triennial Exhibition of Prints in Japan; artist residency at Glasgow Print Studio, Scotland, UK; Bendre - Husain Scholarship courtesy Bombay Art Society, Mumbai, among others.

The artist finds the whole process of printmaking engaging and refreshing. He tends to get deeply engrossed in it. New works introduce him to novel thoughts that when celebrated through the magnificent medium, throw open new possibilities, contexts and relations, introducing him to a visual self-portrait he perhaps was earlier not aware of.
